Interesting how we thought it was the end of Star trek...
Enterprise cancelled seals the Television fate of Star Trek for the next years to come...
Star Trek as a series is one of the most watched shows in television history, still playing today world-wide. This show was misunderstood at its time of original airing and was cancelled in its 3rd Year.
Popularity brought Star Trek back for Movies, Future Series and Legend.
Now in its downtime, Star Trek seems to be taking a break. but not all of Star Trek.
Seems there was a past plan to continue the adventures of Kirk, Spock, McCoy & the rest of the Crew of the U.S.S Enterprise in the 70s... this having succeeded might;ve given us plenty more adventures of the original crew to melt our eyeballs out watching... Well, fear not for this concept has not been lost, well at least not totally...
Star Trek New Voyages The future of the past of Star Trek history has come back to haunt us!!! Actually, I hope this becomes as good as its potential Allows.
The Continuing Missions of the Original 5-year Mission are being put together as we speak for our viewing pleasure. Catch the Developments at their website http://www.newvoyages.com and let us know here what your thoughts are on this idea.
Best Part??? Walter Koenig, yes fans... Chekov himself is returning to Star Trek history reprising his role as Chekov for these new episodes of the continuing adventures of Kirk, Spock, McCoy & Yes fans... Chekov!!!
There is currently 2 finished episodes, available in various formats. I myself want to get the 3+GB DVD Images for that Full Quality effect... I just wonder if the DVD's really are DVD Quality... if not, I will grab the 700 Meg versions... Have to check their forums to find out.
It looks like they may have a little fun this week in the 200th episode of StarGate SG1, looks like there may be some guest appearences from "FarScape" and even a playoff of Star Trek in it.
At least thats what it appears to be in the comeing attractions.
***I know, my spelling stinks at times***
Gene
Yes I am the Daimon - The Supreme Commander - The Commander In Chief - GET OVER IT!!!!
The "pilot" episode (which used to be episode 1)isn't that bad, but unless you have time to kill, I would skip it...
Download the DVD Images and watch it like that and I am sure you will enjoy it...
These guys did a good job, just dont watch it thinking its a parody and you will pick up the gestures and such and find it really enjoyable...
Actually, if you watch the Pilot, you might like James Cawleys hairdo... seems he used to be an Elvis impersonator and forgot to cut his hair before playing Kirk
Oh, and I almost forgot to mention the Graphics... Max Rem, the guy behind the Visuals did a great job with bringing ST:TOS and its Graphics up-to-date without going overboard. I really like the new Warp scenes.
